Isn't that the truth! Green beans, $3.99/lb, tomatoes, $5.99/lb. at the Metropolitan. Tacoma Boys has good bargains--root vegetables, $.99 lb., red peppers, $.99 lb., Honey Crisp apples, $.99 lb. Why the vast difference?

I'll try the beet/bean combo although the last time I bought beets they were $2.99 for three beets, so I thought leek potato soup--another pleasant peasant food--leeks $3.49/lb! I think I'll go back to meat--its cheaper!

My chick pea stew is burbling away on the stove. I loved the "We are the World". It was like going to a high school reunion--some faces were old and dear friends, and some looked familiar--but I just couldn't place them. It was great to see Paul Simon with hair, the boss, still cute,Ray Charles still alive, Tina-well Tina is just too cool! I am forwarding this to my kids, and if they don't watch it, they are cut off!

Mom,

Your toaster dilemma was hilarious! I've never had Ezekial bread, but I do know that Lara likes it so I'll have to forward this onto her. Since she's a self-proclaimed "bakerly challenged" person as well, I doubt it'll be something she makes a batch of, but I think she'd find your blog post interesting.
Miss you,
B

Hey Kathy! I'm siting here with tears in my eyes looking at your picture.
You are absolutely gorgeous with that hair--you look the same as you always did only with lighter hair. Have often wondered and thought about you. It's been a few years (like 50!). I hope you have time to send me an e-mail.

Cordially,
Marilyn Max Dean Tallman
South Sioux City Class of 1960

Mom,
The menu sounds so exotic and delicious! We used to have Korean families that held church in our church building every Sunday morning. The smells of Korean food would waft upstairs and linger until the evening service. We were always invited downstairs to join them and did sometimes(despite desperate protests from the kids). I'm familiar with some of the food names and enjoyed some it, although the seafood dishes were always a bit strange. I love to live those bi-annual dinners with you through the internet. Thanks!
